From January 22-24, 2026, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) held their Advanced Laparoscopy and Fluorescence-Guided Surgery course at IRCAD NA. This marked the first course held by SAGES, IRCAD NA’s strategic professional society partner, at the Charlotte, NC facility.
The next generation of surgeons learned fluorescence-guided techniques during lab sessions in the state-of-the-art surgical ballrooms. On day one of the course, Dr. Brent Matthews, President of SAGES and Professor and Chair of Surgery at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, shared insights on the importance of the partnership between the two institutions.
