Last week, IRCAD North America welcomed MaxFi for a first-of-its-kind perfusion-focused lab, showcasing the unique capabilities of our hybrid operating environments. This innovative program leveraged our advanced imaging infrastructure to capture both arterial and venous visualization before and after a series of complex hepatobiliary procedures.
Throughout the lab, the team assessed perfusion dynamics surrounding a left lateral donor hepatectomy, a total hepatectomy, and an autotransplantation. Notably, the ability to obtain detailed vascular flow imaging following autotransplantation represents a groundbreaking advancement, offering new insight into post-procedural perfusion and surgical outcomes. The integration of real-time imaging within the hybrid ORs allowed for a level of visualization and analysis not typically achievable in traditional training environments.
This work highlights IRCAD North America’s ongoing commitment to supporting cutting-edge education and facilitating environments where innovation and clinical expertise intersect. By providing access to highly specialized facilities and immersive training experiences, we continue to help advance the field of minimally invasive and hepatobiliary surgery.
